Spring cleanup at local animal shelter

February 24, 2009                                                                                                                                                                              Printer friendly

Galveston County and Cities – The Joe Vickery Galveston County Animal Shelter located at 3412 Loop 197 North in Texas City will be closed for a “spring cleanup” on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 3rd and 4th.

During the cleanup the shelter will be closed to adoptions. Residents who wish to relinquish or redeem a lost pet may do so but should call the shelter before coming in. Texas City and Galveston County animal licenses will also be available for purchase from District staff. During the spring cleanup, citizens can still request field assistance with stray animals or animal bites as these services will not be interrupted.

The Galveston County Health District thanks the public for their patience and support of this necessary temporary inconvenience.

For more information citizens may call Animal Services at (409) 948-2485.
