CITY — If county commissioners call for a November bond referendum, then funding
for the county’s animal shelter likely would be on the list of improvements.
Commissioner Stephen D. Holmes said commissioners reached a consensus during a
Wednesday meeting in which the health district presented a list of issues
plaguing the shelter.
Holmes said commissioners could vote later this month on whether to place a bond
election on the Nov. 4 ballot.
Voters would then decide whether to fund improvements at the shelter, Holmes
said, which the health district said is plagued by gross overcrowding and
disease.
