Shelter Closed Three Days for Improvements

The Joe Vickery/Galveston
County Animal Shelter located at 3412 Loop 197 North, Texas City will be
temporarily closed to adoption services in order to make needed repairs and
improvements. The shelter will be closed to the public on Monday, June 2nd
through Wednesday, June 4th and will reopen on Thursday, June 5th
at 11:00 am. For anyone seeking a lost pet or anyone who needs to have an
impounded pet released, the Animal Shelter is asking citizens to call the
shelter in advance at 409-948-2485 to make future arrangements for pickup.
Animal Control field operations will operate as usual and anyone needing to
report loose dogs, animal bites, etc. should continue to contact the shelter
as usual. We regret this temporary inconvenience which will allow us to
make repairs and improvements to shelter operations in the future.
