Notice is hereby given that the United Board of Health of the Galveston County
Health District will conduct a public hearing on June 27, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. in
the Board Room of the Galveston County Health District located at 1207 Oak
Street, La Marque, Texas for the purpose of the first reading and consideration
of the adoption of amendments to the Animal Services Policy of the Galveston
County Health District. Revisions to the
policy include new requirements on the number of animals that can be kept,
dangerous dog requirements, adoption and sterilization requirements, the keeping
of dangerous wild animals and new kennel permit requirements. In addition, the
policy aligns with state requirements and specifically proposed local
requirements applicable to Galveston County and cities’ jurisdictions.
