– A woman from whom 20 dogs were seized by the county last week got four
dogs back after a court hearing Wednesday.
Sabrina Fesler was also awarded a goat and a pig Wednesday that were previously
taken away by Galveston County Animal Services. The animals were seized by
animal services April 11 from Fesler’s property, where she said she was running
an informal animal rescue program.
Owners that had previously given animals up to Fesler have claimed several of
the seized animals, said Kurt Koopmann with the Galveston County Health
District.
Some of the remaining animals are awaiting adoption at the county shelter at
3412 Loop 197 North in Texas City, he said.
