Emergency Medical Services and Galveston County Champions of
Children will observe Texas EMS Week with a health and community
fair on Saturday, May 21 at the Island Community Center, 4700
Broadway in Galveston from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.>
We are very proud of the services that we provide to the citizens and visitors
to Galveston as we celebrate our 30th anniversary,” said
Greg Kunkel, chief of the Galveston EMS. “We were recently
recognized by the State of Texas for our quality service and we want
to continue providing outstanding care to the community.”Kunkel credits
"dedicated trained professionals, working in ambulances stocked with
lifesaving equipment" with providing superior emergency medical
service.
"We would like everyone to attend our community fair to learn more about local EMS
services,” Kunkel said. "Everyone attending the health and
community fair should find something of interest."
The fair will include free immunizations for children provided by the Galveston
County Health District, free smoke detectors for seniors, health
information, cultural exhibits, door prizes and free refreshments.
