If you were among those who were
unable to get a flu shot this flu season, you may have another
chance at getting your shot.
The Galveston County Health District announced that, beginning
Wednesday, the vaccine would be offered to those on an expanded
list of those considered “high risk.”
People who are over the age of 50, those who come into contact
with homebound people and home health care givers have been
added to the list.
Those groups include children 6 months to 23 months of age,
anyone with chronic medical conditions, pregnant women, nursing
home or assisted living home residents, children on chronic
aspirin therapy and medical workers.
If you fit into any of these categories, you ought to look
into getting a vaccine. If you don’t, the health district
continues to encourage you to take all precautions to avoid
becoming ill.
