district receives award for drive

Way to go Galveston
County Health District. The health district
recently received the Thinking Progressively
for Health Award from the Texas Public
Health Association.
Our county’s
health district was honored because of
its role in aggressive strategies taken
to improve immunization rates in the county.
Galveston
County’s immunization rates are lower than
the national average. Through the health
district’s new Strategic Health Plan,
immunizing children and adults has taken
priority.
We applaud
the health district for recognizing and
taking action to improve the health of
our community. Congratulations to everyone
involved.
