Staff ReportsForum on HIV planned for Feb. 3
There will be a forum titled “Empowerment
through Health: A Forum on HIV in the Black Community”
on Feb. 3 in observance of National Black History Month and
National Black HIV Awareness and Information Day.The program will be from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. in the UTMB Levin Hall Dining Room, 10th and Market streets
in Galveston.
Featured speakers include Jim Hilton,
Galveston County Health Department; UTMB physicians
Steve Lieberman and Norbert J. Roberts Jr.; and keynote speaker
Stanley Lewis, medical director of St. Hope Clinic, Houston.This forum is free and open to the public.
Refreshments will be available at 11:30 a.m.
The event is sponsored by UTMB’s Office
of Equal Opportunity & Diversity in collaboration with
the Texas NeuroAIDS Research Center, AIDS Clinical Trials
Unit and HIV/AIDS Awareness Panel.
