This year when you’re
speeding through stores buying school supplies, clothes and
shoes, don’t forget to take a few minutes to check your
child’s immunization record.
During the first 18 years
of life, a regimented schedule of shots is necessary to guard
against diseases.
Diseases such as measles,
mumps and rubella can be devastating. A simple vaccine may
be what guards children against death, blindness and other
debilitating effects.
On Aug. 4, the county health
district will conduct a Kids Health Fest, an event where children
can receive all the necessary shots before school starts.
Remember, if your child’s
shots are not up to date, they cannot attend school.
Not only will you be looking out for your
child’s welfare, you will also be protecting other children
as well.
What: Kids Health Fest.
When: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 4-15.
Where: 1207 Oak St., La Marque.
Details: Costumed characters, coloring
contests and door prizes will be available
