La Marque – Rabies
vaccinations will be the subject for a Public Hearing of the
Galveston County United Board of Health on June 25th. The
State of Texas now allows 3 year rabies vaccinations. Historically
pet owners in Texas have been required to immunize pets against
rabies on a yearly basis.
The District’s Animal
Shelter Advisory Committee has recommended that the Board
of Health accept the 3 year interval for rabies vaccinations
as approved by the Texas Department of Health.
The Public Hearing will
be conducted at District offices located in La Marque at 1207
Oak Street beginning at 6 P.M. Interested citizens are encouraged
to attend and submit comments.
