Air Pollution
Complaints:
The Air Pollution Services Division receives
various types of complaints, such as:
- outdoor odors/smoke nuisance
- dust
- suspected industrial overspray impacts on property
- illegal burns
When you submit a complaint
you will need to provide the following information:
- Your Name
- Your Address
- Your Phone Number
- Complaint Location (or address)
- a brief description of the complaint
You can submit a complaint by telephone - call 409. 938.2251,
by faxing the information - fax number 409-938-2271,
or submit the complaint by regular mail - PO
Box 939, La Marque, TX 77568.
What will happen next?
Once your complaint is received, it is assigned to an investigator,
who will visit the site to determine if there are any violations.
Upon confirmation of a nuisance condition, the investigator
will issue a notice of violation to the responsible party.
They will be given a specified time to correct the violation.
If compliance is not achieved the case will be referred to
the appropriate law enforcement agency.
The complainant will receive a copy of the completed
investigation report.
Water Pollution Complaints:
The Water Pollution Services Division
receives various types of complaints such as:

sewage overflows/spills
- potential illegal materials dumping on land
- illicit piping to waterways
- mysterious discolorations of water systems
- greywater
- fish kills
When you submit a complaint:
you will need to provide the following information:
- Your Name

- a brief description of the complaint

What will happen next?
Once your complaint is received it is assigned to an investigator
who will visit the site to determine any violations. If violations
are noted the responsible party (owner) is notified and given
a set time to correct the problem. If the problem is not corrected
during that time, it can be handled in the appropriate court.
When the complaint is closed the complainant is notified by
phone.
