If your source of drinking water should become contaminated and no other safe drinking water
sources are available, you may disinfect the available water supply in the following manner.

• If cloudy or muddy, strain it through a clean cloth

  THEN...

• Boil at a rolling boil for at least one minute

  OR

• Use 8 drops of plain chlorine bleach (5.25% Sodium Hypochlorite) per one gallon of water
• Mix well for one minute
• Let stand for 30 minutes
• A slight taste or smell of chlorine is normal

OR

• Use a commercially available water purification kit from a drug or sporting goods store
