The Consumer Health Services Division offers educational courses for Food Service Managers and for Swimming Pool Operators. Classes are held in the WIC Training Room (next to the WIC office) at 9850-B Emmett Lowry Expy, Texas City, Texas. Food Service Managers 5 year Certification
This course is required of all food service establishments involved in food preparation procedures. Pre-registration and a course fee of $50.00 is required when you register so you may receive educational materials and guarantee your space in the class. Class space is limited. Pre-registration closes at 5:00pm on the Monday prior to the class. This class is offered in both English and Spanish. Class times are 8am - 5pm. To register, complete the Food Service Managers Certification Course Registration Form and submit it, along with course fee to the Texas City office. The classes are from 8:00 am through 5:00 pm.

Food Handlers Course
Food Handlers Courses are available upon request of a particular food service establishmentand dependent upon Health District staff availability. These courses are held on the premises or a site designated by the establishment. The course length is established by the restaurant and the course director. The fee is $25 per person.

Swimming Pool Operators 2 year Certification Course
The Swimming Pool Operator course is a one day class which explains the requirements of the regulations and good operational standards of public and semi-public swimming pools.Class size is limited to 20 people. Pre-registration and a course fee of $50.00 is required when you register. To register, complete the Swimming Pool Operator Course Registration Form and submit it, along with course fee to the Texas City office. The course is from 8:00 am through 5:00 pm.
