This committee was created in the interlocal agreement dated September 2007 between the City of Galveston and the Galveston County Health District.  The agreements calls for an advisory group composed of five voting members.  One a representative of the Galveston City Council, one representative of the medical community in Galveston, Three interested citizens at large.  The group is charged to meet at least quarterly and to report to the City Council about its activities and findings.  The EMS Director, and Medical Director serve as ex-officio members.

Michael Carr, JD, Ex-offico as EMS Director

The introductory, first meeting was held on Monday, February 18, 2008 at noon in the Galveston City Council Workshop room.  A regular schedule of meetings has not been established at this time.   However the next meeting is scheduled for March 17, 2008 at 1:00 pm location TBA
