The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children - better known as the WIC Program - serves to safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, & children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, and referrals to health care.
The following benefits are provided to WIC participants:
- Nutrition education classes and individual counseling at WIC locations
- Health screening and referrals to other health and social services
- Supplemental nutritious foods (vouchers)
Those eligible for WIC assistance include:
- Pregnant women (through pregnancy and up to six weeks after birth or after pregnancy ends)
- Breastfeeding women (up to infant’s first birthday)
- Non breastfeeding postpartum women (up to six months after the birth of an infant or after pregnancy ends)
- Infants (up to first birthday)
- Children up to their fifth birthday
To be eligible, applicants must meet income guidelines, a State residency requirement, and be individually determined to be at “nutrition risk” by a health professional. For more information to determine if your family may meet the income and nutritional risk guidelines click here.
Cost: There is no charge for eligible applicants.

On the first Wednesday of each month the WIC offices open at 1:00pm.
