Senior Health Services support self healthcare, community and public healthcare and encourages seniors to make a difference in the well-being of their lives and the lives of others in the community utilizing Health District services.

 Services offered through the program include:

• Semi-annual Health Fests in local senior centers
• Membership in the Senior Health Corps
• Cooking Schools
• Enrollment in Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB)
• Participation in  Health Fairs and Community Events. Download request form here

• Promotion of senior oriented exercise programs

Location: The Senior Health Services office is located at GCHD Headquarters, 1207 Oak Street, La Marque, telephone 409-392-1589. Services are often provided at senior centers located throughout the county.  Click here to see a list of local senior centers.  

Cost:  Any costs are normal fees as charged by the service provider or community event.

Community partners include:  4C’s Clinics,  Galveston County Parks and Senior Services, Libbie’s Place at Moody Methodist Church, AARP, Mainland Communities United Way, The Jesse Tree, Area Health Education Center, Galveston County Extension Agency, Lone Star Legal, UMTB Senior Services, Mainland Hospital Senior Wellness Services, Galveston Housing Authority, Veteran’s Administration, Medicare and numerous community churches.
