Tuberculosis (TB) Services include screening, diagnosing and
treating people for tuberculosis; and educating, investigating
and assisting people who come in contact with TB. Additional
services include coordination and support to medical providers in
Galveston County and health care facilities.
Federal funds channeled through the Texas Department of State Health
Services are administered by the Galveston County Health District
to provide TB services.
Services offered through the program include:
- TB evaluations, diagnostic tests, medications and follow up
care
- TB skin testing for high-risk individuals
- Contacting and testing people who may have been exposed to
TB
- TB education at Health Fairs and community events.

Location & Hours: The TB
Services office is located at GCHD Headquarters, 1207 Oak Street, La
Marque, and staff may be reached at 409-938-2218, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
Community partners include: The
4C's Clinics, Infection control staff at health care
facilities throughout the county, private physicians, adult
drug/alcohol treatment centers, Methadone clinics, employees of
businesses whose licenses require TB testing and evaluation for
employees, and the county jail. For
