The Galveston County Emergency Response Collaborative (GCERC) is a collaboration between many of Galveston County's first responders. These include the Galveston County Health District, Galveston County Office of Emergency Management, Galveston County Sheriff’s Department, Gulf Coast Center, Mainland Medical Center, Red Cross, Shriner’s Burn Hospital, and UTMB.

Training was conducted for GCHD personnel in how to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Health Care Workers should use Personal Protective Equipment in settings where there is an increased risk of exposure to infectious droplet nuclei or other harmful dusts, fumes, gases, or vapors.
