The Galveston County Health District’s United Board of Health and 4C’s Governing Board proudly present the Health District’s Strategic Health Plan. This plan was developed inviting the participation and feedback of a broad and inclusive group of community stakeholders in the health of Galveston County residents.

The Plan addresses eight health priorities identified by participants, and outlines goals that will guide the Health District and community partners towards measurable improvements in the health of Galveston County residents by the year 2010. In an ever-changing health environment, the plan will be updated every five years and the Health District will provide an annual report of progress towards the identified goals.

We acknowledge and appreciate the dedicated work of Health District employees who carried out the six month health planning process. We recognize the need for the support of the entire community in taking positive steps towards improving the health of our community, and we invite your on-going commitment to these goals.
