UPDATE: Unfortunately this call is cancelled due to an instructor shortage. We look forward to the next class occurring later this year or early next year.

ORIGINAL: The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) division of the Galveston County Health District (GCHD) is happy to host another free parenting class focusing on infants. The 10-week class will take place at the GCHD Texas City WIC clinic starting on October 16, 2017.

The class, called The Incredible Years, is a collaboration with the Galveston New Parenting Initiative. Parents, guardians and caregivers of newborn through one-year-old children are encouraged to register quickly as class size is limited. Participants will receive free diapers and a meal at each class.

“This will be our third such class focusing on infants and the feedback has been great,” said Eileen Dawley, GCHD Chief Nursing Officer. “We look forward to giving another group of new parents the opportunity to sit down with each other and experts to learn about the incredible journey of raising a child.”

The class will be held 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Mondays from October 16, 2017 to December 18, 2017 at the GCHD Texas City WIC clinic, located at 9850-B Emmett F. Lowry Expressway.
